WebDirectSound is a deprecated software component of the Microsoft DirectX library for the Windows operating system, superseded by XAudio2. It provides a low-latency interface to sound card drivers written for Windows 95 through Windows XP and can handle the mixing and recording of multiple audio streams. WebI too had this issue, and found the same fix - switching from Windows Audio Session to Direct Sound was the solution. Now when I switch from speakers to headset or to a wireless speaker or vice-versa, I don't have to restart iTunes - the music continues without interruption.
