WebThese fragments include Ardtole Church and Our Lady of Dunsford. Ardtole Church was founded by Saint Patrick and is situated close to his well in Sheepland. This building was rebuilt in the 1300s. Its preservation as the only church of the eight to stand today goes back to a dark chapter in the area’s history. WebDunsford Take the A2 from Ardglass to Strandford, after 2 miles at Chapeltown, turn left into Church Road (beside St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church). Dunsford Church is one mile along this road on the right. Down Cathedral Down Cathedral is in the centre of Downpatrick, at the top of English Street. It is very well signposted.
