The first VMK clones die MAC of the first physical ethernet interface (at least for me since 5.5). (To aid in PXE booting, is my guess.) 2. WebAs you suggested setting FollowHardwareMacto 1 fixed the issue. So I guess I'll have to set this parameter before cloning a SD card. Will try to install ESXi on a VM w/o network card - maybe that'll force ESXI to set up vmk0on first boot rather than during installation.
