As to SATA SSDs, because the SCSI drive is HDDs, I think in most cases, SATA SSDs are faster still.

Think about it - if it reads data faster with nvme, all that happens is data gets held up in a queue until it is processed. Also bear in mind there is a "compression" overhead that limits the write speeds as well.
