WebThe Palmetto cluster is a homegrown, community condo model based HPC infrastructure. It is a heterogeneous system built incrementally, phase-by- phase, over a decade, and has more than 2,000 compute nodes with more than 1,000 NVIDIA GPUs. To improve Palmetto’s accessibility for researchers, Clemson’s IT WebSkylight is the MERCURY part of the Palmetto Cluster now administered by Clemson University. The original cluster was MERCURY’s 2024 HPC acquisition purchased using funds from a 2016 NSF MRI grant.Its operation and hosting were generously supported by the Office of Furman’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost from 2024-2024.
